K1000 v5.3 L10n agent/server patches are now available for download

New K1000 L10n patches are now available for download to our global K1000 customer base. The patches include a number of server & agent improvements, as well as several crucial bug fixes.

Key patch changes include:

  • Support for Mac Lion 10.7.2
  • Windows inventory performance improvements
  • Better Windows logged-in user detection
  • Additional agent failure recovery capabilities

Status of Requested non-Critical/non-Security Patches for K1000-series Server

The patch feed for the K1000 appliance provides Critical Security patches for operating systems and applications. To see all supported OS and applications please download and reference the following document: “Patching Support”.

Other non-security and non-critical updates for supported applications and operating systems may also be included in the patch-feed based upon customer request. Requests for additional updates are prioritized and scheduled for publication in the patch-feed on a weekly basis.

Please download and open the attached document to review the status of any open patch requests. If a specific non-critical patch is missing from the K1000 appliance and it is not on the attached list, please submit a new ticket to support@kace.com to request the missing patch.  Download the report here.

New product training for K2000 3.4 (live ANZ broadcast Jan 24th)

K2000 3.4 contains enhancements to make it easier to work with deployment and migration than ever before.  

We'll show you:

  • How to add offboard storage to your K2000
  • Use SSL to secure the administrative UI
  • Go over the new limited releases of the Native Imaging Toolkit for Mac and Windows, which allows you to work with WIM and DMG images directly from your K2000, and KBE Manipulator, which allows you to customize your boot environments.  

K2000 3.4 goes farther than ever before in letting you work with larger K-images, native WIM and DMG images, user documents and settings, and integration with your K1000. 

It also includes support for Mac OS Lion and our Driver Feed 2.0.  K2000 3.4 lets you do more with your existing assets than ever before.

The patch will include a number of server & agent improvements, as well as several crucial bug fixes.

Free Training: Kace Kontinuing Education – New Sessions Published

The Dell KACE Edukation team continues to hold free weekly ongoing training sessions for existing and new customers, covering a variety of subjects related to both K1000 and K2000 appliances.  The upcoming schedule has just been updated with the next few weeks of topics.

Kace Kontinuing Education (KKE) is an ongoing free supplement to JumpStart training. We continue to offer new topics and some re-visited popular koncepts on a weekly basis. We’re pleased to announce new times and days of the week serving even more time zones across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific/Australia/New Zealand regions! All sessions run for up to an hour. Most sessions are usually focused on a particular topic, while some sessions are an open-forum style so anyone can bring any how-to questions and we will try to help answer them.
